Today the first group blog officially opens! It's the effort group blog and they have presented one research article review.
Do you need to read this group blog post right away? No. I was anticipating that these group blogs would officially open sometime shortly after October 10th (or just after our 5th class session). So if you wish to read this entry after October 10th that's completely fine. However, I would like you to notice the format of this first article review. In particular notice how Amy (the author) has used bold type for logical headers, uses relatively short paragraphs, and has created an extra line space between paragraphs. All of these stylistic issues make it much easier to read material posted to the web.
Second, I'd like you to notice a subtle change to the sidebar area. Look for the section titled group blogs. For most of these you'll see (in gray type) the descriptor "draft stage." However, for the Effort group it reads, "1 post." So, when a group blog project officially opens up, I'll let everyone know via a post to this news page. Second, I'll update the "blog count" in the sidebar every 48 hours or so. In turn this gives you a very rough idea of the amount of activity going on at each group blog.
Check out the Effort Group's first blog entry. If you feel inclined, give Amy a "shout" of encouragement. But a true read of her post can be left until sometime after October 10th.
